Although I always thought I would be a novelist, I am primarily a short story writer. I have been writing short stories for a long time. I never meant them to all be short stories, but that’s how they end up.
Little snippets of stories, glimpses into lives.
My short story, The Pendant, was published in the 2nd volume of Precipice: the literary anthology of Write on Edge.
I am currently curating a collection of short stories and will be looking to publish in the next year.
I am also a blogger. I write personal narratives on my blog, Unintentionally Brilliant, which can vary from posts about single parenting, to conversations with my son, to living with depression. As a single mother, I have written posts on how to talk to children about divorce and what it’s like to date in your thirties. My most popular posts are conversations I have with my son, which can range from finding humor in a child’s perspective to serious discussions about the world we live in. As a lover of words, I also enjoy featuring reviews of books I’ve read.
I can also be found contributing pieces about motherhood and culture to World Moms Blog as the writer from Nevada, USA. While I have used this platform to talk about dating as a single parent and how I am raising my son, I also use it to promote prematurity awareness. My son was born 32 weeks early, and I continue to support the March of Dimes in their research to improve the lives of babies, as well as giving all babies a healthy start in life.
